Our Time at the GIRO Conference 2024
Last week, William Gallimore, Jake Morton, Rhianne Winnall, Jono Conolly, Ishi Malde and Ben Huntley had the pleasure of returning to GIRO Conference in Birmingham, one of the highlights of the actuarial calendar. As always, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with clients, candidates, and industry professionals, but this year’s conference was particularly special thanks to the variety of activities we hosted and participated in.
Golf at The Belfry
Our GIRO experience kicked off early on Monday with a round of golf at the world-famous Belfry Golf Course. William Gallimore, Jake Morton, and Jono Conolly joint hosted a morning of golf with 16 golfers on The Brabazon Course. While the weather wasn’t on our side, the stunning course and excellent company more than made up for it. An ideal start to proceedings!
Batak game - again a hit with attendees
Following its success at the Life Conference , we again hired a Batak reactions game for our stand, with various prizes up for grabs. Designed to test reflexes and coordination, the game proved a popular draw for delegates who were keen to hit the top conference top score and claim top prize.
Run club in the snow
Tuesday morning brought an unexpected challenge — a run club in the snow! Despite the chilly conditions, six dedicated (and brave) individuals, including three of the HFG team headed for an invigorating early-morning run around Birmingham. The cold air and snowy scenery made for a memorable (and uncomfortable) experience but the camaraderie among the group got them through it!
Club night
To cap off a busy Tuesday, HFG joint hosted the GIRO after party, bringing together clients, candidates, and fellow GIRO attendees for the post-dinner party. As always, it was a brilliant way to unwind after a full day of conference sessions and again showcased the inclusive culture of the GIRO community.
A Big Thank You
Thank you to everyone who joined us at GIRO this year — whether it was on the golf course, at the stand, during the snowy run, or on the dance floor. Events like this remind us why we’re so passionate about what we do at HFG: fostering connections, championing the insurance industry and having fun along the way.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s GIRO and planning how to make it even bigger and better. Until then, thank you for being part of our journey!
