HFG returns to YES Day for the third consecutive year
This week, HFG was proud to return to the Youth Employment Scheme (YES) Day, hosted at Pool Re and organised by the East End Community Foundation (EECF). This marks our third consecutive year supporting this initiative, something we’re incredibly proud to be part of.
The YES Project brings together corporate partners and grassroots organisations with a shared goal: helping young people develop the essential soft skills required to gain and sustain employment. While qualifications are important, attributes such as confidence, communication, resilience and self-awareness are often what truly shape long-term career success.
Supporting the next generation
Representing HFG this year were George Matthews, Perry Jones and Jono Conolly, who delivered an engaging and interactive session for the group.
Drawing on their own career journeys within insurance and recruitment, they shared practical advice on:
Building confidence in professional environments
Building a strong CV
Understanding interview expectations
The importance of networking & Linkedin
Taking proactive steps towards securing work experience
A day focused on practical development
YES Day is designed to be hands-on and action-oriented. Alongside HFG’s session, students took part in a range of highly practical workshops aimed at strengthening their employability skills, including:
Understanding imposter syndrome
Podcast simulation exercises
Mock interviews (in-person and remote)
The structure of the day ensured students didn’t just hear about career development. They actively practised the skills that will help them secure opportunities.
Thank You
We would like to thank Pool Re for hosting and the East End Community Foundation for organising another well-run and meaningful event.
We’re already looking forward to supporting year four.
