HFG Charity Golf Day - A day on the course for a great cause

Back to Blogs

This week, we were delighted to host our latest Charity Golf Day on the stunning Old Course at Burhill Golf Club. The sun was shining throughout the day, though a lively breeze added an extra challenge to the round!

Alongside the main competition, we also ran a golf clinic for beginners, led by two of Burhill’s professionals. It was fantastic to see so many newcomers to the game enjoying lessons on the driving range, chipping, and putting greens, before joining us for the BBQ and presentation.

On the course, we were excited to run a hole-in-one competition for charity, with a top prize of £20,000 up for grabs. While no one managed to scoop the big prize this time, the competition added a great buzz throughout the day.

After play, we gathered outdoors for a BBQ in the sunshine and prize presentations. A big congratulations goes to Grant Ashton, who emerged as the winner of the Individual Stableford.

Most importantly, thanks to the generosity and support of everyone who joined us, we were thrilled to raise over £1,700 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, a local charity providing vital care and support for children and families across Surrey and London. If you would like to donate to our chosen charity, please click here for our Just Giving page.

We’d like to thank all participants, supporters and Burhill Golf Club for helping to make the day such a success. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to bring the insurance community together for good causes.
