The Actuarial & Risk division of HFG strives to service our clients’ needs in an area where demand for resource consistently exceeds supply. HFG’s network and established relationships enable the team to consistently pinpoint hidden talent in the marketplace, an approach strengthened by the superb reputation of our team across the sector. HFG's Actuarial team’s technical understanding of this area is the vital component in providing the quality of service and credibility that the market demands. As a result the team has access to individuals across all actuarial disciplines including reserving, pricing, product development, capital, valuations, modelling and reporting. The HFG Actuarial division is structured in order to supply candidates through the “career ladder” from graduate level to actuarial students and recently qualified actuaries to Chief Actuaries.
Recently Risk Management has been one of the most active areas of Insurance recruitment. The role of the traditional Risk Manager has broadened to include a more quantitative focus and the HFG team has grown to adapt to these enhanced demands. The team have an enviable network across all facets of risk management including Operational, Financial and Underwriting risk. They work very closely with the HFG Actuarial team in order to service the quantitative positions across the industry. The Risk Management network has been extended even further in order to attract investment professionals from wider fields.
In 2023, HFG partnered with the IFoA Foundation as their first recruitment partner. Our contribution will help fund education grants, mentoring and school engagement projects, all aiming to increase diversity in the actuarial workforce.
The partnership will also enhance the support the IFoA are are able to offer aspiring actuaries from all backgrounds and raise their profiles with the profession.
