Claims Associate - Professional Indemnity

Salary - Up to £50k base + Bonus

Location: London/Hybrid (Typically 2/3 days in the office)

The role:

  • Management and control of a variety of claims within Professional, Financial & Cyber business lines.
  • On receipt of claim notification, identify risk, review details in conjunction with coverage/wording afforded, acknowledge to client/intermediary, prepare claims file accurately and promptly and maintain in-house computerised claims records.
  • Producing claims information and presenting to insurers or clients, either in written or networked format; and dealing with any resultant instructions, queries and enquiries.
  • Monitoring insurers' agreement and payment of funds and ensuring that payment is made to the appropriate beneficiary.
  • Reporting any claims difficulties immediately to management.
  • Ensuring relevant insurer's instructions are notified to Client/expert and vice versa.
  • Building meaningful relationships with Clients, experts and insurers by dealing with them in a prompt, friendly and professional manner at all times.
  • Ensuring effective liaison with placing colleagues, including, where required, the maintenance and provision of claims statistics for renewal or similar purposes. Included in this is running Claims Renewal Reports
  • Ensuring effective liaison with accounting colleagues both in respect of collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries.
  • Keeping up to date with market and system changes.
  • Monitoring workload and reporting to management as appropriate.
  • Attending internal/external meetings as required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred but not required.
  • A desire to complete CII qualifications
  • Predominantly handled Professional Indemnity, FI or D&O claims.
  • 3-5 years with a broker, insurer, lawyer, or loss adjuster handling Profin claims. Person Specification: Proficient with using ECF Ability to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong numeracy skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proactive and ambitious - willing to take on challenges and grow technically and professionally.
