New Vacancy - Senior Underwriter (General Liability)

I am currently partnered with a leading Lloyd's Syndicate who are seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their growing Casualty team.
This role will be responsible Underwriting a range of Casualty products from a Lloyd's capacity including but not limited to Umbrella, US Freight, US Construction, Fac Reinsurance, Alternative Risks and Sexual Abuse. My client is looking for someone with a strong Underwriting background in GL business (US or International), or a strong UK background working on large, complex risks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Risk Assessment & Technical Underwriting
Evaluate complex casualty exposures, applying underwriting best practices and pricing tools to ensure sound risk selection and support sustainable, profitable growth.
2. Broker & Client Relationship Management
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with brokers and clients to support new business development and policy renewals.
Represent the business in external engagements, including client meetings, broker interactions, industry events, and conferences.
Champion the business as a preferred Lloyd's market for U.S. Liability solutions.
3. Product Innovation & Coverage Design
Support the creation of new insurance solutions in response to evolving risks and customer demands.
Work closely with legal and wordings experts to develop tailored policy language, particularly for bespoke and non-standard placements.
4. Leadership & Development
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters through coaching and case referrals.
Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the growth and capability of the underwriting team.
5. Governance & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all underwriting activity adheres to internal authority levels and complies with applicable regulatory and market standards.
