Job description

A leading Financial Services company is looking to hire a Pensions Data Analyst to join their growing team on an initial 6 month basis. This role would suit a Data Analyst with experience working with Defined Benefit pension schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing the scheme benefit basis to understand the benefit structure, and to ensure VE data is being supplied appropriately.
  • Setting up benefit mappings within the PDM to ensure all pension benefits within the data sets are correctly interpreted.
  • Checking the data received from the Third Party Administrators (TPAs) in the VEs matches the verified data.
  • Producing valuation data files (MPFs) from the PDM and comparing these files to previous 'BAU' valuation data, with all unexpected data changes being fully investigated.
  • Analysing reserve movements at both policy and scheme level, with all material movements/queries to be resolved prior to handing schemes over into the monthly reporting model.
  • The role requires good basic understanding of final salary benefit data and how various changes in data over time could impact reserving calculations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel are required, skills in SQL would be advantageous.
