Job description

A start up insurance business with significant backing from an international parent are looking for an experienced treasury professional to help them set up the function. With an eye on governance and controls, you'll be able to shape the function and work closely with the CFO to build out a best in class operation.

  • Establish and implement treasury operations, including processes for daily cash management, liquidity tracking, and foreign exchange exposure monitoring, tailored to the needs of a growing insurance start-up.

  • Design and build initial cash flow forecasting models, enabling visibility over short- and long-term liquidity requirements to support informed decision-making and strategic financial planning.

  • Set up compliance frameworks to meet internal and external requirements for liquidity management, ensuring the business is aligned with insurance regulatory standards from the outset

  • Develop reporting templates and governance structures for presenting treasury and liquidity updates to the Board and Investment Committee, working with senior stakeholders to establish clear communication channels.

  • Create variance analysis frameworks to compare forecasted vs. actual cash performance, supporting transparency, accountability, and ongoing improvement of treasury planning accuracy.

  • Draft and formalize initial Treasury policies and procedures, setting up a robust control environment to manage risk, ensure policy adherence, and support future audits and regulatory reviews.

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities as the business scales, laying the groundwork for a scalable, efficient treasury function.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the insurance market and will be able to work autonomously to set up a function. Experience in a fast paced start-up environment is highly desirable.
