Job description
New Vacancy - Claims Adjuster - Financial Lines (D&O and Transactional Liability)
Lloyd's Syndicate
London/Hybrid
I am currently partnered with a leading Lloyd's Syndicate who are seeking a Claims Adjuster to join their growing team.
This role will focus on handling D&O and TL Claims from notice to settlement. My clients portfolio is a mix of primary and excess Claims arising from global jurisdictions, including the US. Frequent travel to the US and a strong learning and development path will come with this role, and they are keen to speak to people from private practice too.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, adjust, and settle claims underwritten by the Syndicate. All activity must align with delegated authority limits and Claims Management Policies, including the Claims Philosophy and Reserving Protocol.
- Proactively manage the company's claims exposure, ensuring efficient claims handling in compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Protect the company's financial interests by validating claims payments and maintaining appropriate reserving practices.
- Deliver a responsive, efficient claims service in line with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
- Communicate material claims developments, trends, and significant losses to relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
- Ensure effective collaboration between the Claims function and all relevant Syndicate and affiliate stakeholders.
- Adhere to the claims philosophy, internal standards, and individual authority limits in all claims management activities.
- Ensure all claims-whether submitted electronically or by paper-are handled promptly and within agreed service levels, from notification through to resolution.
- Appoint and oversee service providers, and develop appropriate strategies for claim resolution.
- Maintain professional relationships and clear communication with brokers, co-insurers, and clients on claims-related matters.
- Ensure internal claims records are accurate and up to date. Manage personal workflow using ECF2 and other relevant claims systems.
- Work closely with senior management, and with underwriting teams, to support smooth business operations and effective communication across functions.
- Support wider claims management responsibilities including Open Claims Reviews, reserving and reinsurance analysis, reinsurer engagement, and participation in other relevant projects.
- Take part in ongoing professional, technical, and career development training, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with other departments-such as Underwriting, Actuarial, Risk, Finance, and Compliance-to support effective claims delivery.
- Attend internal meetings and committees as required.
