Job description

A rapidly expanding insurance MGA with a unique business model is looking for a highly accomplished accountant to join a high profile finance function. The purpose of the role is to support the Group in effective delivery of the finance function's services to the business, including financial and management reporting as well as financial analysis and support on business development activities. The key areas of delivery will be:

  • Deliver high-quality Group consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders in compliance with UKGAAP & IFRS regulatory guidance.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial control environment with regards to Group reporting activities and the broader financial control framework.
  • Actively oversee the financial reporting of the Group's MGA entities and effectively reporting to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of financial information for consumption by external parties such as Rating Agencies, Investors and other senior stakeholders
  • Create efficient and effective methods for tracking financial data and identifying any outliers
  • Partner with the Underwriting/ Operations / Claims department to produce relevant MI data to facilitate strategic decision making.
  • Monitor and report the MGA's cash flow position and liaising with the Treasury / credit control departments on a regular basis to ensure no shortfalls in working capital.
  • Assist in implementation projects where required which include but are not limited to the General Ledger project, process improvement initiatives surrounding the technical insurance system and other ad hoc systems managed by the Finance department

The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years PQE (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and will have worked in a London Market insurer, ideally an MGA. You will need strong technical and financial reporting knowledge within the insurance/ re(insurance) sector and a good understanding of group consolidation principles and financial reporting systems (preferably NetSuite)
