NEW ROLE: Head of Global Insurance - Marine

Role Purpose

The Head of Insurance will be responsible for leading and growing the firm's Marine insurance broking capability across hull & machinery, war risks, marine liability, and P&I. The role combines technical authority, market leadership, strategic development, and senior client engagement, with accountability for revenue growth, client retention, and team leadership.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Define and execute the marine insurance strategy across Hull & Machinery, War, Marine Liability, and P&I in line with the firm's broader business objectives.

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth through new business development, cross-selling, and expansion of existing client relationships.

  • Identify emerging risks, market trends, and new product opportunities within the global marine insurance landscape.

Client & Relationship Management

  • Act as a senior advisor to key clients, including shipowners, operators, charterers, managers, and maritime service providers.

  • Lead complex placement strategies, renewals, and claims advocacy for major accounts.

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with global P&I Clubs, insurers, reinsurers, and underwriting markets.

Broking & Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight across all marine placements, ensuring best-in-class coverage design and execution.

  • Oversee placement of complex risks, including large fleets, specialist vessels, offshore risks, and high-risk trading areas.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and market standards.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marine broking team.

  • Set performance objectives, manage succession planning, and support professional development across the function.

  • Foster a collaborative culture aligned with the firm's values and risk appetite
