A niche insurance business with a strong balance sheet and good reputation are looking for a Senior Investment Officer for a 12 month contract to help see them through a period of change.

The role will work directly with the CIO in performing a variety of investment related functions in relations to organising and directing the investment function of the business. Responsibilities will be:

• Work with the existing Investment managers & consultants across multiple asset classes to implement investment strategy.
• Collaborate with the CIO to set the strategic direction of the investment function to help the development of the departments goals and objectives.
• Assist in the development and implementation of a tactical asset allocation model
• Conduct analysis of exposure data across managers , with a particular emphasis on the various bond mandates.
• Support the monitoring of overall fund performance, manager reviews and reporting requirements.
• Support the ESG related initiatives that seek to positively impact ESG scores of the investment portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in investment management, with a preference of having managed fixed income and equity portfolios. Experience managing insurance company assets and understanding the regulatory requirements will be essential to perform well in this role. You will need a financially related degree and a professional qualification such as CFA would be highly beneficial.
