Job description

A growing Lloyd's Insurer with a great brand and reputation is looking to build out its expanding syndicate finance function with the hiring of a Syndicate Reporting Manager.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be involved in managing the reporting for both the syndicates, managing agent and corporate member. This will involve liaising and working closely with different areas of the business including actuarial, underwriting, risk and compliance to produce external reporting submissions, regulatory returns and group reporting information. Additionally, you will be involved in Finance projects as well as other adhoc projects when required. You will also work closely with the Financial Controller & CFO in developing and implementing measures to enhance reporting efficiencies and in enhancing the syndicate financial control framework.

  • Complete all aspects of the quarterly close process and present the ledgers in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Responsible for review of all Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
  • Responsible for the preparation and management of the quarter end close timetable
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of financial analysis and performance as required by group
  • Responsible for the initial review of all Lloyd's regulatory returns
  • Responsible for the production and initial review of interim and annual statutory accounts
  • Responsible for monitoring cash flow required, ensuring adequate funds are in place to meet liabilities and currency matching requirements
  • Develop and enhance existing processes to produce the regulatory returns for these to be as streamlined as possible
  • Develop and enhance the existing controlled accounting environment around ledger population and regulatory reporting
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure regulatory submission are signed and submitted to the regulatory bodies within the desired timelines
  • Liaise with internal audit on any audits associated to Syndicate Finance
  • Oversee the day to day activities of the finance team of 3 qualified and 1 part qualified accountant
  • Work closely and build working relationships with other departments to include, Risk and Compliance, Operations, Actuarial and MIS to assist with accuracy, completeness of transactions and financial disclosure

To be considered for this role you will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA, CIMA) with extensive experience across the Lloyd's/London Market. Have excellent working knowledge of Lloyd's reporting requirements. You will need excellent IT skills, with exposure to data modelling software and accounting ledger being a real benefit due to the nature of the reporting required in the role.
