Special Risks & Construction Technician
Location: London, UK
Reporting to: Operations Lead

A newly launched independent Lloyd's Broker is seeking a Special Risks & Construction Technician to provide high-quality technical and premium processing support to the Special Risks and Construction Broking Teams. The role will assist in the placement and servicing of risks while ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a high standard of service to both clients and insurers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to brokers in the placement and servicing of risks, including Construction and Special Risks lines such as Crisis Management, Contingency, Terrorism, Accident & Health, Media & Entertainment, and Livestock & Equine.

  • Prepare, process, and issue insurance documentation including quotations, MRCs, endorsements, debit notes, and credit notes.

  • Ensure all documentation complies with FCA regulations, company policies, and London Market requirements.

  • Process premiums, APs, and RPs in accordance with agreed terms and established market procedures.

  • Liaise with clients, insurers, and internal finance teams to resolve premium and accounting queries.

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of bordereaux where required.

  • Maintain accurate records of placements, premiums, and bordereaux.

  • Support compliance requirements under the AR framework and internal company standards.

  • Assist with reporting and data analysis to support management and board updates.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Special Risks & Construction Technician within the London Market.

  • Understanding of London Market standard wordings, or a strong willingness to develop technical expertise.

  • Familiarity with London Market processes and documentation.

  • Experience using broking systems (e.g., Whitespace).

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
