I am currently recruiting for a growing Lloyd's Insurer who are seeking a Junior Underwriter to join their Trade Credit and Political Risk team.

My client is looking for an experienced individual in this field with in-depth knowledge, expertise and experience of PR/TC underwriting and complex transactions. This role would suit an experienced Underwriting Assistant or Assistant Underwriter looking for a step up.

Key Responsibilities

• Play an active role in achieving the team business plan in line with the overall business strategy.
• Ensure compliance with operating model and risk framework.
• Improve business performance by providing accurate management information.
• Serve as a role model for the brand and culture.
• Support the Head of PRTC in developing a high performing team and mentoring junior underwriters.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maximize opportunities and relationships.
• Manage risks in line with business plan and company standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting processes and risk management.
• Assist with reinsurance policies and claims management.
• Oversee administration and support systems for underwriting.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Make risk-based decisions and manage risks as per company framework.
• Implement data controls and adhere to document management policies.
• Embrace technology for improved underwriting services.
• Operate within designated authority levels.
