New Role: Claims Adjuster - Casualty Reinsurance

I am currently partnered with a leading Insurer who are seeking a Claims Adjuster to join their team on a 9M contract basis to cover maternity, which could end up going permanent.

This role will be adjusting Casualty Reinsurance Claims including but not limited to; APH, Workers Compensation and European Motor. This will be a mix of International and US based risks.

My client is looking for someone with strong Claims Adjusting experience in the Casualty Reinsurance space.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an individual caseload, analysing critical data and factual reports, setting appropriate reserves, negotiating settlements directly with Cedants, and confidently making and supporting independent decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims files, ensuring all data is captured in line with best practice standards.
  • Prepare clear, concise written and verbal reports for senior management.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Cedants, Brokers, Co-Reinsurers, and Legal Representatives in the evaluation and management of reinsurance claim exposures.
  • Ensure all policy obligations are fulfilled and that Customers are Treated Fairly at all times.
  • Adhere to all compliance requirements, maintain strict confidentiality, and act as a company representative by modelling and upholding company policies and standards.
  • Deliver against agreed objectives and performance targets.
  • Support team success by contributing to related tasks, initiatives, and projects as required.
  • Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insights, trend analysis, and identifying emerging risks.
  • Support audits of Cedants and other relevant parties, including participation in due diligence activities where required.
  • Liaise effectively with actuarial, finance, and operations teams as necessary.
  • Stay informed of relevant legal, regulatory, and medical developments.
  • Escalate and report significant developments, issues, and trends to the Head of London Market Claims as appropriate.
