Job description

New Vacancy - Claims Manager - Construction PI (Solicitor)
Lloyd's Insurer
London / Hybrid

I am currently partnered with a leading Insurer who are seeking a Claims Manager to join their team on a 18-24 FTC basis to help out with Professional Indemnity Claims against Construction professionals.

This role will be handling specific Construction PI Claims from notice to settlement, predominately from the UK&I, with international exposure.

My client is looking for a qualified Solicitor in the UK with strong claims experience within Construction PI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complex Claims Handling: Managing a portfolio of high-value professional liability claims (including design issues, structural failures, and breach of contract), with regular reporting to senior claims leadership.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with insured clients, providing proactive guidance and support throughout the claims process.
  • Litigation Management: Instructing and overseeing external legal advisors and experts to develop cost-effective, strategic defences in litigated matters, including participation in meetings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
  • Claims Reserving: Setting and maintaining accurate and timely reserves in line with internal procedures and best practice.
  • Financial Control: Managing claim budgets, as well as reviewing and authorising invoices and claim-related payments.
  • Investigation & Liability Assessment: Conducting thorough investigations to assess liability at an early stage and providing clear advice to clients.
  • Coverage Analysis: Interpreting policy wording to assess coverage applicability and escalating key issues for senior review where appropriate.
  • Underwriting Support: Providing insight to underwriting and actuarial teams on claims trends, patterns, and emerging risks.
