The Journey

What attracted you to recruitment and, specifically, to HFG?
I’ve always enjoyed working in people-centric roles, and I really like how you’re in control of your own success in recruitment. What attracted me to HFG was the strong network the business has built within the insurance industry and the focus on developing long-term relationships with clients and candidates.

How did you find the onboarding process, and what stood out to you in your first few weeks?
Everyone I spoke with from day one has been a pleasure to deal with from the start of the processes. It was clear that everyone was very passionate and very helpful. The collaboration between teams and autonomy we are given really stood out for me.

Experience at HFG So Far

What has been the biggest learning experience for you since joining?
The biggest learning experience has definitely been navigating the unique nuances of specialty insurance as well as learning all the new terminology and keeping up to date with the prospects.

How would you describe the company culture at HFG?
HFG is a supportive, people-first workplace that balances a high-performance environment with a strong focus on long-term relationships.

Have there been any standout moments or highlights in your time here so far?
My highlights have been the clients I have supported and have appointed with so far. A challenging but rewarding processes!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received from a colleague?
A combination of extreme organisation and targeted high volume quality output will reap rewards!

If you could give advice to someone considering a career in recruitment, what would it be?
It can be a rewarding career if you are willing to put in the effort and commitment to achieve success.

Personal Interests

What’s something people might not know about you?
I was born in Malta.

If you weren’t in recruitment, what do you think you’d be doing?
My first ever job after education was a chef and I imagine I would have continued if I had never had the opportunity to get into recruitment!

How do you maintain a good work life balance?
I maintain a work life balance by keeping active. I also think it's important to try and reward yourself once a quarter with a holiday or something rewarding to keep yourself going.
